Huge Interest in Taskers Site Units

The Weekend West
GEORGIA SWEETING

The former Roly Tasker’s site on McCabe Street Mosman Park has long been a talking point among locals and passers-by since an up-market residential
apartment development was mooted as its replacement more than eight years ago.
Co-owner and builder/developer Gary Dempsey described the approval and planning process as “drawn out and frustrating” but he was thrilled that construction was due to begin next month.
Situated just back from Stirling Highway, the six-level development will have virtually uninterrupted views of the river, ocean, Rottnest Island and back
towards the city.
Mr Dempsey said most of the apartments would have at least one vista, and those that did not would be positioned to take advantage of views of the 3000sqm of parkland and communal gardens that had been incorporated into the layout.
The six-level first stage of the development was released to market with little fanfare or publicity three weeks ago and Mr Dempsey said interest had been
huge with more than half already sold of the plan.
Stage one offered buyers entry level into the development with a selection of smaller one and two bedroom apartments available from $524,000, with an average price of $1.4 million.
The four penthouses, which have not yet been released to the public, will range in price from mid-$2 million to $5 million.
Mr Dempsey said most interest had been from locals seeking to downsize and sell the family home as well as those looking to make a change to take advantage of Perth’s coastal lifestyle. “Our buyers are looking to downsize but they don’t want to compromise on quality just because they might be moving to something smaller,” he said.
Prospective buyers are offered a high degree of flexibility when choosing the design and layout of their apartment. The development will feature
LED lighting throughout and incorporate green initiatives including a 10kW solar system, electrically operated concealed blinds and ducted air-conditioning.
The luxury fit-out will include Caesarstone in the kitchens and bathrooms, Gaggenau kitchen appliances, travertine floors, high 3m ceilings, and premium
German self-closing fixtures and fittings for all cupboards and storage spaces.
The spacious balcony spaces have been designed to factor in the south-west perspective with 2m-high glass providing wind protection where it is most
needed.
The development will include a pool, gymnasium and sauna.Provision has been made to include a cafe on the ground floor that would service residents and locals and open only during theday. Download Article (PDF)
